Sage was born into Ratbone Rescues on April 2, 2009. Currently, she weighs 4 pounds and should weigh between 16 and 20 pounds when she is grown. Her mom is a Rat Terrier, and she appears to be a Rattie as well, but we do not know her dad. She is a lovely little tri-color and is very sweet and cuddly. She loves to get as much attention as she can and will run and play until she gives out. She should be ready to go to her furr-ever home the last week of June. Alfalfa (Al for short) was born into Ratbone Rescues on April 2, 2009. Currently he weighs 4 1/2 pounds, and should weigh approximately 18-22 pounds when he is grown. His mom is a lovely Rat Terrier, but we don't know what dad looks like; Al looks like a Rat Terrier. Al also acts like a rat terrier and knows how to get busy. He will play until he falls over into a deep sleep. Al loves to be held and enjoys being around people and chasing the adult dogs around. Al will require someone who loves to spend time with their doggie. He is worth it though! His image event is http://imageevent.com/rattiemom/nurseries/belladonnaAvailable For Adoption
Skully was born into Ratbone Rescues on April 2, 2009. Currently, he weighs 3 1/2 pounds and should weigh approximately 14 to 17 pounds when he is grown. His mom is a Rattie and he appears to be Rattie as well, but we do not know what the dad looks like. Skully is the smallest pup in the litter, but makes up for his size with a confident. He is definitely an active little fellow. This little man loves to play and strives for all the attention he can attract. Since he is so small, he should not go to a home with children under 6 years of age. He will be ready to go home the middle of June. He will require someone who has a lot of love and time to give to him. He is well worth it though! His image event is http://imageevent.com/rattiemom/nurseries/belladonna

Drake, given the name "Wild Mandrake" at birth, was born into Ratbone Rescues on April 2, 2009. He currently weighs 4 1/2 pounds and should weigh approximately 18-22 pounds when grown. His mom is a Rattie, but we don't know what dad looks like. Drake, however, looks to be a tri-color Rattie. He is the tamest of the crew and will lie silently at times without demanding your full attention. However, he has his moments as well and will not be ignored. He enjoys a good frolicky time with his siblings and likes to be held and given his share of attention. He should be ready to go home around the middle of June. Drake will require someone who knows how to meet a puppy's needs; time, love and attention. But he is well worth it! Drake will get along with other dogs, cats and children if properly acclimated. Milo Ponder is a black and white Rat Terrier in Portland, Oregon who is need of a forever home. His original owner rescued him from a puppy mill and did not realize how much responsibility having a dog is. Milo P is a little over a year old. He loves long walks at the dog park, beach, and even just a walk around the block keeps him happy. He is eager to please, intelligent, and a fast learner. Milo is neutered. He has been raised around two Beagles and a cat. Milo is house trained but does have full time access to a dog door. He is crate trained but has spent little time there. He much prefers to snuggle with people and is an excellent foot warmer. Milo loves to play with his toys and is thrilled when someone joins in to play with him. He loves playing with the youngest Beagle in the household and sometimes even with the cat. He has shown no signs of being aggressive towards the household dogs or cat. He does well at the off-leash dog park and has shown no signs of aggression towards other dogs at the park. He is leash trained, knows his name, sits, stays, and comes on command. He will get in the car on the command of "load up". Milo loves dog treats but is eager to please for just praise alone. He loves car rides, but does not like to be near open windows. Like any Rat Terrier he thrives with interaction and activity during the day, but he is also content to sit on someone's lap and relax in the evening. Milo does not have much experience with children other than the occassional encounter during walks; in those instances, other than being somewhat shy, he did well. He is shy when meeting new people or dogs, except at the dog park. Once he knows someone though he believes they are his best friend.Note: This dog is a "Guardian Assistance Placement" dog, meaning he/she is being cared for in a home that is not affiliated with Ratbone Rescues. The guardian has supplied vet records and signed an agreement giving Ratbone the right and responsibility to rehome the dog, but Ratbone does not have physical custody and cannot otherwise vouch for any of the information provided.

Rio's fostermom says he is one of the friendliest dogs she's ever seen. The guy just loves being in a home around people and he is extremely smart. He is vibrant and playful but is a total couch potato when the time calls for it. And he loves to cuddle! Rio gets along with other dogs with maybe a little scuffle over toys if there are not enough to go around. He seems curious about cats but doesn't seem aggressive towards them. Kids are an unknown with him. Larger kids might be ok as Rio can be boisterous when you get him spun up. Rio is a handsome boy and he has a big grin when he's happy. Some of his markings make him look like a little cow. He weighs about 20 pounds and could stand to lose a few (couldn't we all?) He's only about 2 years old. Rio would probably do well in an active home - at least daily walks - and might even excel at dog sports like agility and flyball as he picks up things quickly.

I can tell you about Milo; he sure is a bundle of energy! He's probably somewhere around 12 to 18 months old, and about 20 pounds. He had heartworms, but the treatment was successful and he's a healthy little guy now. Milo is real good with the other dogs, but he can still be a little skittish. His fostermom feels he will need a fenced yard and another dog for company. Milo plays real good with Paulie, another Ratbone foster dog, and over 50 pounds. He was scared to get in the truck for awhile but he enjoys the ride now. Milo's in the crate every night, but not crazy about it, so he gets a little treat to "go in". This little guy has kind of a homely face, we're guessing he's crossed with a Boston Terrier, having a droopy jaw and pretty big head - but he's got a cute nature and sure grows on you. Milo's fostermom says he may be too rough with kids less than 10 years old; he plays a lot and pretty hard.Available For Adoption
Little Cookie came from Nebraska and is one seriously cute, active, fun Rat Terrier, wrapped in a 10 pound package. Her name was Cookie but her fostermom kept calling her "Tinkerbelle" because she flitted about so lightly. When it was time to list her name for Ratbone, "Tinker" got stuck on the end of "Cookie". Little Cookie may not be very big but she is a HUGE bundle of love. She likes being on a lap and will leap there whenever an opportunity presents. Of course, she may not sit still on that lap real long. Being petted stretches the time and she has to give some kisses, but then there are other things to attend to. She loves to play; she will shake her stuffed toys so hard it must rattle her little brain. She is practicing to be a Retriever; she might have a good shot at it if she wasn't so small. Cookie will run after a ball or toy, bring it back and jump on her foster mom's lap with it, ready to go again. We don't know how she is with cats - although it is doubtful she would hurt them - she might wear out their patience trying to play with them. Cookie gets along well with other dogs, other than an occasional growl and snip between her and Abebe. She lived with children before rescue and was good with them, but she may be too active for children under 3 years of age. This one is a sweetie who will love to love you. She would do best in an active household as she is no couch potato. A trip to the dog park to chase a ball or a nice walk or run in the neighborhood would be her idea of a fun time. Check her out, she might be the perfect match for you and at just 2-3 years old she has a lot of years to give.Available For Adoption
Belladonna, better known as "Bella", is one sweet doggie. Poor Bella was rescued out of a kill shelter when she was just two weeks shy of having a litter of puppies. Thankfully, she made it to her foster home and was able to have the cutest litter of pups ever, and all are healthy. Bella is only about 1-2 years old and is so gentle and affectionate that it's a wonder how anyone could have parted with her. She loves everyone; other dogs, cats, children, you name it! The only enemy Bella has are the squirrels that capture her interest and set her on a good chase. She is a good sized Rat Terrier and has not lost all her weight from the pups yet, but is well on her way as she is very active and playful. Her favorite thing to do is lie next to her ostermom. She does enjoy toys though, and loves to give her toy chicken a good shake every now and then. She also loves to give big sloppy kisses so get ready to have your face cleaned with shows of affection. Bella is completely house trained and uses the doggie door like a pro. Bella will be eligible for adoption once she is spayed which should be around the middle of June.

Rusty is a stout 1-2 year old "Teddy Type-B" male. He weighs about 16 pounds and is about 13 inches tall. Rusty was a stray and his time had run out at the shelter. Since being in his foster home Rusty has really warmed up, and has become very loving. He gets along great with dogs and he does well with Terrier-wise cats that don’t run away from him. Rusty is still unsure with children, as he is not around them on a regular basis; any children in the home would need to be gentle, dog-savvy, and closely monitored until a good relationship has been established. Rusty is working on his house-training and his only issue is occasional marking. He is wearing a "belly band", and has improved greatly since being neutered. Rusty walks like an absolute dream on a leash. He is not very interested in toys, but does enjoy a bone and playing with the other dogs. Rusty is crate trained and at night he likes to sleep on a pillow beside his foster-parent's bed. Overall, Rusty is a sweet, loyal dog with a lot of love to give. Hi! I'm Bean Ratbone! I am 1.5 years old and weigh about 16 pounds. I was born and raised in a West Virginia shelter with my brother (he was rescued by Ratbone, too). It sure is nice to be in the comfort of a home now! My foster mom is impressed with how well I have caught on to potty training. I'm still a bit skittish but I am very friendly. I live with a cat and 2 foster dogs and we all get along great! I think I would do best with older kids - 10 and up - as the little ones tend to frighten me. I do love my crate, and sleep in it every night. If you have the love and time to help me come out of my shell even more I know I will be a great new member of your family! I'm really a very good boy! Check out my album: http://s569.photobucket.com/albums/ss134/RRFOSTERMOM/Bean

HELLO My name is Daisy Brat, and I am a Rat Terrier/Boston Terrier Mix. I am 5 months old and weigh 16 pounds. I was rescued me from a shelter in South Carolina, where I was on death row. I am a very HAPPY, floppy puppy. I love to run and jump and play. I love kids as well, though if they're small I might knock them over as I'm pretty bouncy. So I should not go to a home with kids under 4 years of age. I would never hurt them on purpose, but I am an energetic puppy, and still learning my manners. I would love to have my own family: someone who has time to spend training me to be a good puppy. I promise to show you all the love I have. I am almost totally house trained and crate trained, and don't bark much at all, if any. My fostermom says I am a great little girl. I love to go in the car and to be wherever my Mom is. So please, if you can give me a forever home filled with love and care and won't mind that I'm a "mix" who may be a little bigger then a standard Rat Terrier - please apply for me. Mom says I "won't last long". Love Daisy BratAvailable For Adoption
Hello I am 5 Years old and weigh about 19 pounds. I am a purebred Rat Terrier and I even have my papers. I was surrendered to rescue when my family was moving; they said they could not take me with them. I was very sad, but my fostermom took me in and I have been a great boy. I am 100% house trained, I do not mark and I have great manners. I am able to be left in house alone and I never tear anything up. I will go into a crate if you want me to, but I would rather sleep with you and; my fostermom says my new home should be one who won't mind that. I am a grumbly fellow, but I am very sweet. Being an only dog would be nice as well, since I love all the attention. I am leash trained, love to go in the car, like cats and have lived with kids. I would do best in a home where someone is home most of the time and not too much traffic, Older children would be best, too. I would be great for someone retired, looking for a laid-back dog. I would also be a great, loyal lap dog. I will lay with you for hours and love to have my tummy rubbed. I am tall and have a docked tail. I need to be placed local to my foster home in Albany. I am a GREAT boy and would love to have my own family. If you can offer me a loving forever home please apply. I promise to be the best boy ever.

Little Lulu is 6 years old, and weighs 10 pounds. She was rescued from a shelter in central Florida because she had an ear infection, and wouldn't be eligible for their adoption program. Lulu gets along with the other dogs in her foster home, but prefers to only associate with one or two at a time; one-on-one she will get silly and play. She has not tried to eat the cat, but she's showing more interest in following him around, so a cat-free home might be best for her. We have not yet tested Lulu with children, but feel she would probably be fine with older kids (over 8 years). Lulu is very affectionate, and will even jump up into your arms from the floor. She loves attention - but not getting her nails trimmed! Lulu appears to be housebroken (she will whine to go out), and she is keeping a clean crate over-night.
