Available For Adoption

Bambi is between 1 and 2 years old and weighs about 13 pounds. She was an owner surrender to a county kill shelter in central Florida, after she'd had a litter of pups. Bambi wasn't in very good condition when we rescued her from the shelter; she was very thin, wormy, her coat was in bad condition, and she had fleas and mites. After much attention and care by her foster-Mom and Vet, Bambi has cleaned up all her skin and worm conditions, and has put on weight. She's now the picture of health with her glossy brown and white coat.
Still being a youngster, Bambi loves to play. She loves to play tug with her foster sisters and will race around the back yard like a greyhound! Bambi will chase and retrieve a small tennis ball over and over again. She also loves to chew on raw rib bones or antlers. Bambi gets along with other dogs wonderfully. She's a little wary of strange people and children at first, but just stays away until she's ready to greet them. She has not been introduced to cats while in foster care.
She's housebroken with a doggie door and would do well without one if her new family would let her out in a timely manner. Bambi doesn't have any accidents being left in the house all day while her foster-Mom is working. She's learning her basic obedience and is a quick learner. Bambi's foster-Mom says that she's a real pleasure to take for a walk; she doesn't pull and stays by your side. She sleeps in her crate at night and has free roam of the living areas with her foster sisters during the day, with no destructive behavior or "accidents". Bambi is a young, lovely girl who needs a furever home and family of her own. Could you be that family?

Available for Adoption

Sophia - Florida

Sophia is a 12 pound Teddy Roosevelt (b-type) Rattie. She was found as a stray by Animal Control and taken to a county kill shelter in central Florida. No one came to get her in her three day time. Sophia is about 8+ years old. She had been well fed before she was lost, as she was a little sausage when Ratbone rescued her from the shelter. Sophia has been on a diet and now has her girlish waistline back.

Sophia loves to be loved. She will follow you around and lie by your feet where ever you stop. She is house trained with a doggie door. Sophia goes right out, does her business, and comes back in. Her foster-Mom thinks she was strictly a house dog, so should do well without a doggie door also. Sophia's hearing isn't that good, but she hears well enough. She also some clouding over her eyes, but according to the Vet she does not have cataracts. She seems to see fine.
Sophia loves belly rubs, chasing and playing with a small tennis ball, chewing and playing with bones, and riding in the car. She seems to love all people and especially small children. Sophia gets along well with her foster-sisters, but likes watching them play rather than joining in. Sometimes she tries to join in, but they're just too fast for her.
She hasn't met any cats yet at her foster home, but her foster Mom thinks she would have no problem with them. Since Sophia isn't as active as a youngster - she would do well in a house or apartment/condo. If you could give Sophia a loving home she would love you unconditionally.

Available For Adoption

Dolci - Texas

Dolci is a four month old (9-11-09), seven pound girl that absolutely lives up to her name (sweet)! She is on a regular schedule and knows "outside", where she takes care of her business quickly. Dolci has been in and out the doggie door but doesn't have access to it at all times, so she has some work to do to master it. She is OK in a crate, but sleeps in a doggie bed in the utility room at night. Dolci walks well on a leash and is able to refocus on mom pretty quickly if something distracts her. She gets along well with her siblings (Jaxson and Kalee), but gets in sisterly fusses sometimes. Dolci is friendly with the other Ratties in the home but prefers her sister and brother as playmates. She has not been around kids or cats yet, but can be tested if needed. Dolci is beginning her social education and is very excited about new things. She doesn't seem fearful of anything (thunder, water, etc) and she's being exposed to new things daily. If you think a joyful little package of love would be just what your family needs, apply for Dolci now and she'll provide that love over and over!

Available For Adoption

Jaxson - Texas

Jaxson is a four month old (9-11-09), nine pound bundle of love. He is on a regular schedule and knows "outside", where he quickly takes care of his business. Jaxson has been in and out the doggie door a few times, but he's not mastered it as he doesn't have access to it at all times. He is OK in a crate, but sleeps in a doggie bed at night in the utility room. Jaxson walks well on a leash if not distracted by his surroundings (dogs, people, birds), and is working on refocusing on Mom at those times. He gets along well with his siblings (Kalee and Dolci) and is very friendly to the other ratties in the home; they are older and not as tolerant of his puppy exuberance, but he is very respectful of their corrections. There is so much puppy play going on that sometimes he plops down and instantly falls asleep. Jaxson has not been around cats or children, but can be tested if needed. He is beginning his social education and doesn't seem fearful of anything (thunder, water, etc) yet. He's excited about the new sights and sounds he is exposed to daily. If you need a loving little sweetheart to provide kisses in abundance, then Jaxson could be your dog!

Available For Adoption

Gordy - Oregon

Gordy is a survivor of a hoarder in New Mexico. He is approximately one year old and weighs 15 pounds. Coming from an environment that didn't provide a great deal of human touch, Gordy is shy. He is very sweet natured and gets along very well with other dogs, so we feel he would do best with another dog to model from. Gordy is wary of people and will take time to warm up. He doesn't yet feel comfortable being petted, but he takes treats very softly and wags his tail to greet you. Gordy is inquisitive, gentle, and playful with other dogs. He uses the doggy door and sleeps in his own bed at night. Gordy has only been in foster care a short time, and hasn't fully began to trust; once he settles he will be a wonderful companion.

Available For Adoption

Scout - New York

Hello - meet Scout. She is about 3 years old and is just weaning her pups. Scout was rescued from a shelter with 2 older pups from two different litters, and she was pregnant at the time she came into rescue. She is very sweet and house trained 100%. She will crate, but she does not like it. Scout would prefer to be where ever her person is. She is good with kids. But Scout is very "prey driven", and should not be placed in a home with cats. She does well with other dogs and has great recall. Scout really wants to have a forever home of her own, to be loved, and never dumped again. Even though she's a great mom she's ready to step out into the big world and be someone's baby girl. Scout is very loving, and hardly barks at all. She will get in the trash if she smells something yummy, but otherwise she is a great girl. If you are looking for an awesome dog please look at Scout; she promises to love you, follow you where-ever you go, to sit in your lap while you watch TV or read, to and snuggle in bed at night. Scout is looking for a forever loving home.

The following two dogs are being fostered in Pennsylvania:

Sassy
Hi. My name is Sassy. I'm 4 years old and about 11 pounds. Don't let the name fool you, my foster family thinks I'm a Sweetie! I am housebroken and very easy going. I like nothing better than to be by my foster mom's side. I'm a bit shy, but I warm up very quickly! I get along great with the other foster dog kids and the cat! I enjoy getting loved on by everyone. I am not very hyper, but I do like to play a bit. I am also good about letting you know if I hear someone at the door. That's really the only time I bark. Stop by and see me at http://s569.photobucket.com/albums/ss134/RRFOSTERMOM/Sassy/

Amelia
Hi there! I'm Amelia. I am 4 yrs old and about 21 pounds. My foster mom says I am such a sweet girl! I was found as a stray but I must have belonged to someone as I am carrying a few extra pounds. I like to eat, what can I say?! I am housebroken and a cuddle bug. I sleep with my foster human brother every night. I also get along fine with the other foster dogs, the kids and the cat. I love to lounge around with my humans and take it easy. I do get a little nervous when the other dogs play. They just get too noisy for my tastes! If you are looking for a laid back little girl then I am the one for you! Take a look at http://s569.photobucket.com/albums/ss134/RRFOSTERMOM/Amelia/
