Little Maya Needs Surgery

Here's the e-mail Ratbone received from a small rescue group:

We have a rat terrier puppy that is approx. 12 weeks old and weighs 4.7 lbs. and is in need of surgery for ectopic ureters (2). She has had a vaginal exam and we know that she does have two ectopic ureters and will require surgery at Michigan State for $3,000.00. Our rescue is too small and we do not have the funds for the surgery so she will have to be euthanized. I am writing to see if your rescue is interested in taking her instead of having her euthanized. This puppy is just as sweet as can be and her tail never stops wagging and she give unlimited number of kisses. It have been a very sad last couple of days for not only us at the rescue but the foster family that has cared for her for the past two months.

The board of Ratbone has agreed to take this little girl but will we need to raise funds for her surgery and to fly her to an available foster home where she can receive medical care. We're trying to put together a fundraiser but in the mean time are asking for help through donations. Can you please help little Maya get her surgery and a new lease on life by making a donation?

We understand the economy is in recession and the holidays have just passed so we want to remind everyone that a donation of any amount will be greatly appreciated and will help give this little girl a chance at life. While hundred dollar donations are much appreciated, remember that if 10 people donate $10 we will still have $100 toward her surgery and travel!

If you would like to make a donation please send it via PayPal to redwon234@gmail.com and indicate that it's for Maya. Or, checks and money orders can be sent to:
