Available for Adoption

ROXIE (Texas)

Roxie is a young adult, purebred Rat Terrier, weighing around 12 pounds. She is housebroken and obedience trained (she responds to sit, down, stay, leave it, etc). Roxie is also crate trained, walks well on a leash, and has very good "recall". She gets along excellently with children and other animals. Roxie is a very sweet and loving dog. Like all Ratties she needs regular exercise – we do long walks, running and Frisbee, which she loves. Her most favorite thing in the world to do (other than trying to catch squirrels) is to be with her Mom. She loves it when tey can work from home, and is very happy to hang out in her bed next to the desk. She also loves to hang out on the bed at night and I watch TV.
Roxie will also entertain herself; she loves to chew on her "bones" and play with her squeaky toys. Her only "fault" might be that she is quite submissive when scolded (crouching, crawling, and some submissive wetting). Roxie will bark and sometimes dig if left alone or ignored, and she will act dominant (i.e. pack leader) if permitted to do so. She very much needs to be with a family that will not leave her alone all day, and will give her lots of attention and exercise. Roxie would love a home with other dogs or even a cat that will interact with her.

Note: This dog is a "Guardian Assistance Placement" dog, meaning he/she is being cared for in a home that is not affiliated with Ratbone Rescues. The guardian has suppliedvet records and signed an agreement giving Ratbone the right and responsibility to rehome the dog, but Ratbone does not have physical custody and cannot otherwise vouch for any of the information provided.
